how to tell a bedtime story

fathers and mothers,

is telling stories to your children at bedtime an easy work? I truly believe it is not.

in my opinion, helping a child to have a good night sleep is much better than serving him a good meal. How happy you find when you watch your child slowly falling asleep in a total peace?

not like us adults, children, especially at toddler ages, learn a lot of things even while they sleep. That's how they grow. Never think your child doesn't understand what you say to him/her. He/she gets better everyday by learning little bitty thing one after another.

Some things to remember:

  1. never tell your child a meaningless story or an uncompleted one.
  2. putting feeling into words.
  3. you don't have to tell the story exactly the same all over and over, but you have to make sure the main storyline is alike.
  4. add more details if you want but never change how the story ends.
  5. you don't have to explain anything unless your child asks.
  6. choose stories that you like so that you can express feelings better and you won't get bored after telling one story 100 times. your child can feel that you don't like something even you try not to show. gotta love what you do.

Have a good night.
